Considering the fact that the Republic of Macedonia in the last two years has significantly widespread early production of cabbage (spring cabbage ) below we will look at most important diseases of this crop.
Plasmodiophora brassicae – Clubroot of cabbage
The disease occurs in all plants of the genus Brassica. Diseased plants begin to vein, later yellow in leaf and clove or form (depending on phenophase when done infection) or remains small.
Peronospora parasitica – moulds of cabbage
The disease is most present in production of seedlings. The preventive chemical protection and proper management of all agro-technical terms, significantly reducing the risk of infection by this fungus.
Fusarium oxysporum – Cabbage wilt
The fungus attacks the conduction of water and minerals (xylem) and causes necrosis tissue. The best conditions for achieving infection humid and hot weather.
Botrysis cinerea – gray mould of cabbage
Infection occurs at high relative air humidity and soil moisture. Causes gray rot infected tissue.
Xanthomonas campestris Pseudomonas macculicolum – black rot of cabbage
These bacteria cause black rot of cocksfoot of cabbage.
